Ayritom customs post launches digital complexes

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Ayritom border customs post in Termez district.

The post is the only checkpoint on the border of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. Trade and economic relations with Afghanistan and South Asian countries are dynamically developing. The customs post was modernized. Halls for passport and customs control have been built.

The Head of the state got acquainted with the conditions created in these new complexes.

The customs post is equipped with the latest technology within the framework of the “Digital Uzbekistan 2030” program. A Z-Portal inspection complex with the function of scanning vehicles from three sides has been installed. Due to the minimal radiation level, scanning does not require the driver to get out of the car. All this makes it possible to inspect up to 200 vehicles per hour. At other customs posts in the country, the throughput is 20 vehicles per hour. The border customs post can serve up to 2 thousand passengers per day.

“This is a good innovation in the current conditions. But the world changes hourly. It’s time to go to the next level. Along with the situation center, there should be a think tank here. New proposals are needed to increase economic efficiency and prevent risks”, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

A unique feature of the Ayritom post is that it is capable of serving trains, vehicles and citizens at the same time. The work is carried out according to the “one window” principle to speed up the checkpoint process and create convenience for users. Adani and Rapiscan digital solutions and a video surveillance system have been installed to ensure security.

The President answered the questions of media representatives.
