Uzbekistan’s leader to take part in SCO summit

On November 10, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will take part in the session of Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Council of the Heads of State, due in videoconference format.

The agenda of the meeting chaired by the Russian side includes issues pertaining to the enhancement of multifaceted interaction within the SCO in the context of mounting new global challenges and threats.

The heads of delegations from member and observer nations will analyze the current state and discuss the prospects of multilateral relations in priority areas, as well as exchange views on pressing international and regional issues.

The United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres is also expected to deliver a video message to the summit participants.

Following the session discussions, Moscow Declaration and a package of documents are to be adopted to expand the mutually advantageous cooperation within the SCO, including in the field of security, economy, digital technologies, development of rural areas, effective counteraction of epidemics as well as in other areas.
