President of Uzbekistan to attend the Turkic Council Summit

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit the Republic of Turkey on November 11-12 to attend the events of the next Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States, in Istanbul.

The agenda of the upcoming summit includes issues of enhancing multifaceted relations within the Council, primarily in trade, investment, green economy, digital technologies, transport and communications, as well as cultural-humanitarian exchange. Issues of further improvement of the organization’s activities will also be considered.

Following the summit, it is expected to adopt joint documents aimed at improving the effectiveness of interaction and deepening multilateral cooperation in priority areas.

The program of the visit of the Head of the state also provides for holding several bilateral meetings in Istanbul.

The Cooperation Council of the Turkic Speaking States was established in 2009 to promote comprehensive relations between the participating countries of this structure.

Currently, the members of the Council are Uzbekistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Uzbekistan joined the organization in 2019. Hungary has observer status in the Turkic Council.
