Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan speak by phone

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has talked over the phone with President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan.

The heads of state discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations built on robust bonds of centuries-old friendship and neighborliness as well as principles of confidence and strategic partnership.

The Presidents noted with satisfaction the close coordination and active exchanges at the government level in order to swiftly overcome the consequences of coronavirus contagion.

Particular attention was paid to promoting joint programs and projects aimed at increasing trade turnover indicators, at enhancing cooperation by supporting new initiatives by business and regions, as well as holding cultural and humanitarian events.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kasym-Jomart Tokayev also swapped views on the developments in our region. The two Presidents expressed hope for the soonest stabilization of the situation in Kyrgyzstan in accordance with norms of the Constitution and the national legislation.
