Imam Mohamed Magid: Uzbekistan is an example of harmonious coexistence of religions and cultures

At the "Dialogue of Declarations" forum, which is taking place today in Tashkent, the head of the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (USA) Imam Mohamed Magid expressed sincere gratitude to the government of Uzbekistan for its traditionally warm hospitality.

He noted that Uzbekistan is a country with a rich historical heritage and a vivid example of the harmonious coexistence of various religions. According to him, mosques, churches and synagogues have peacefully coexisted here for centuries, which reflects a unique atmosphere of tolerance and mutual respect.

Developing this idea, the imam emphasized that Uzbekistan is rightfully considered the "pearl of Islamic civilization." It was on this land that conditions for creation and spiritual development were formed, outstanding theologians and scientists worked, fundamental scientific works were created. A special place in this heritage is occupied by the contribution of such outstanding thinkers as Imam Al-Bukhari, Al-Termezi and others.

In conclusion, Mohamed Magid drew attention to the modern role of Uzbekistan as a center of religious tourism. Today, he noted, many American Muslims come to the country to visit shrines, and also actively participate in international conferences and scientific meetings together with Uzbek specialists.
