About the meeting with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General, the Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy in Central Asia (UNRCCA)

On March 29, 2018 a meeting was held between the Director of the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan (ISRS) V.I.Norov and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General, the Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy in Central Asia (UNRCCA) N.Gherman, the UNRCCA Representative in Uzbekistan N.Khudaiberganov at the ISRS.

During the conversation, the Head of the UNRCCA highly appreciated the changes taking place in the political, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres of Uzbekistan and which paved the way for a new period of state building. According to N.Gherman, maintaining the current dynamics of reforms and development of Uzbekistan over the next few years will truly lead to the strengthening of the country’s position in Central Asia.

The issue of establishment close and fruitful cooperation between ISRS and UNRCCA was one of the central and key topics of the meeting. The sides confirmed mutual intentions to work together in this direction and discussed the prospects for holding joint events involving all interested parties, including the Central Asian region.
