On February 25, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev became familiar with the presentation of construction projects to be implemented in Tashkent region.
The creation of a 155-hectare park in Tashkent region’s Qibray district, near the Tashkent-Vostochniy airfield, is among the projects. The experience of well-known parks in megacities, their landscape and infrastructure solutions were used in implementing this project. This place is designed as an arboretum with unique views of trees, shrubs, flowers and walking areas. The park is expected to have a significant impact on improving the environment in the metropolitan area.
It is planned to build an Olympic town next to the park. As is known, Tashkent was chosen as the venue for the 2025 Asian Youth Games by the decision of the Olympic Council of Asia. Representatives of 45 countries of the continent will compete in the Olympic Games in about 20 sports.
Uzbekistan is hosting this prestigious international competition for the first time. The President noted that this is a sign of great confidence in Uzbekistan and it is necessary to start careful preparations for the games.
For this purpose, a project was developed for the construction of an Olympic town on an area of 160 hectares. It is planned to improve more than 5 kilometers of the embankment of the Chirchik River and create necessary conditions for rowing competitions. It is also planned to create a 270-hectare park along the rowing canal.
Two universities, a clinic, an Expocentre, shopping and entertainment facilities will be located on the adjacent territory.
The President gave instructions on the completion of projects in terms of quality and convenience, the use of advanced solutions and construction technologies.
