Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan discuss bilateral and regional agenda

On March 15, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Issues of further enhancing multifaceted cooperation, strengthening friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership between the two countries were discussed at the meeting.

The main attention was paid to building up cooperation in the economic sphere to overcome the negative consequences of the pandemic as soon as possible.

The sides discussed issues of increasing the trade turnover, promoting joint industrial cooperation projects within the framework of the adopted roadmap, as well as developing effective transport communications and logistics infrastructure in the border areas.

The importance of continuing active exchanges at the level of governments, interested agencies and organizations in healthcare, pharmaceuticals and education was also noted.

The parties also exchanged views on the international and regional agenda. The schedule of the upcoming bilateral and multilateral events was considered.

Following the conversation, the Heads of state warmly exchanged congratulations on the upcoming Navruz spring holiday, sincerely wishing the fraternal peoples peace, wellbeing and prosperity.

The telephone conversation between the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan was held in a business and friendly environment.
