Today, a few days ahead of the Day of Homeland Defender, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev has visited the Academy of the Armed Forces.
In January 2017, the head of state ordered the organization of a completely new educational institution on the basis of the Tashkent Higher School of Combined Services Command. Soon after, an appropriate decree of the President was adopted, and the School was transformed into the Academy of the Armed Forces, which incorporated the most advanced technologies and cutting-edge teaching aids. In January 2018, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief visited the new Academy and got familiar with its activities.
Today, the terms and substance of the educational process at the institution have changed dramatically. The classrooms are equipped with modern computer technology, learning and laboratory equipment. There is a situational center, simulators are used.
Last year, works on the modernization of the Academy continued, new facilities were erected. Additional amenities have been created for the education and combat training of cadets as well as their practicing sports.
The Academy became home to the newly established Methodological Council designed to coordinate the learning and scientific processes in all higher and secondary special military educational institutions of the country.
The head of state got acquainted with the results of work to improve the institution and the commissioned new modern educational infrastructure facilities.
The possibilities of a complex of dynamic computer simulators of the main samples of military equipment, information on rationalization and innovative developments of the Academy’s cadets were presented to the President.
“In military education, like in all other areas, we must always keep up to date and even be a step ahead. Our cadets and students should acquire the most sophisticated knowledge and skills based on innovation, keep abreast of developments in the field, constantly self-improve,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev insisted.
The President congratulated the cadets on a significant event in the life of our country – the 28th anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Day of Homeland Defender. Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the conditions in educational and residential premises, as well as modern sports facilities.

Later the same day, while at the Academy of Armed Forces, the President of Uzbekistan, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev has chaired an expanded meeting of the Security Council to discuss issues related to the development and reform of the national army.
