The President got acquainted with the activities carried out here.

The Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan is the highest state representative body and exercises legislative power. Therefore, the work in the Senate is always in full swing: hearings, negotiations are regular here, foreign delegations are received. Moreover, parliamentary control is an important and time-consuming task.

In the new building, the most modern conditions are created for the members of the upper chamber taking into account all these features. A 280-seat hall is being set up for joint sessions of both chambers of the Oliy Majlis. It will be decorated in the national style and equipped with modern technology.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave instructions on creating facilities for the effective work of senators.

“Our parliament is working actively. At the meetings, every draft law is discussed for hours. Therefore, it is necessary to take into account all aspects related to movement, health, age of the participants during the meetings, to create appropriate conditions. If sunlight falls into the hall, it will have a beneficial effect on mood and work”, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The new building will also have all the opportunities for holding meetings with delegations, press conferences, and the work of media representatives.
