He emphasized the importance of halting the wave of conflicts and confrontations, rebuilding trust, promoting peaceful coexistence, and upholding the universally recognized principles and norms of international law.
In this regard, the Leader of Uzbekistan highlighted that the situation in the Gaza Strip is becoming increasingly acute, with deteriorating humanitarian conditions. Shavkat Mirziyoyev once again emphasized that only a fair resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli issue based on the principle of “two states for two peoples” can end the conflict in the Middle East.
It should be noted that in recent years, the situation in Palestine, including the Gaza Strip, has been at the center of the international community’s attention. Currently, the Palestinian population has limited access to medicines, food, clean water, and other vital resources.
In this context, Uzbekistan has consistently advocated for a prompt peaceful resolution of this conflict based on international legal norms since the beginning of military actions. The President of Uzbekistan has expressed his aspirations and proposals for improving the complex humanitarian situation in Gaza and establishing peace and stability in the region from the platforms of major international organizations, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Organization of Turkic States, and the Economic Cooperation Organization.
The Uzbek side not only calls for resolving the conflict through compromise and political-diplomatic means but also provides practical and impartial assistance to improve the severe humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
In particular, in 2023, Shavkat Mirziyoyev decided to allocate 1 million 500 thousand dollars to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to assist the population of the Gaza Strip. In 2024, on the initiative of our President, 100 wounded Palestinian women and children, along with their companions, were temporarily evacuated to Uzbekistan. They were placed in rehabilitation centers and hospitals.
The leadership of Uzbekistan, not limiting itself to such actions, is taking additional measures to help Palestinian guests adapt to our society. In this regard, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on August 14, 2025, on providing permanent care and social support to Palestinian citizens who arrived in Uzbekistan.
To coordinate assistance, a Republican Commission was established to facilitate the adaptation process of Palestinian patients and their companions to living in Uzbekistan. The National Agency for Social Protection was designated as the working body of this commission. Direct work with guests at the local level is carried out by “Mahalla of Seven” and “Inson” social service centers. An individual plan of social services and assistance, mandatory for implementation by republican and local executive authorities, as well as their divisions, will be developed for each family within one month.
The President also approved the establishment of a special fund within the National Agency for Social Protection to finance measures ensuring living conditions and social support for Palestinian citizens in the country. The funds from this foundation will be directed towards creating conditions for guests and providing necessary services, covering their expenses, offering material assistance, and implementing a range of other support measures.
The calls of Uzbekistan’s Leader for further stabilization of the humanitarian situation in Gaza and a prompt resolution of the conflict through compromise, as well as his high respect and practical actions for the Palestinian population, clearly demonstrate the noble will of the Uzbek people.
The comprehensive, impartial humanitarian assistance being provided to the population in the difficult situation in Gaza through the relevant initiatives of the President of Uzbekistan once again confirmed the country’s respect for universal values, principles of interethnic and interfaith harmony, and commitment to a policy of good neighborliness with neighboring countries. It is worth emphasizing that today, representatives of more than 130 nationalities and ethnicities, as well as 16 confessions, live peacefully together in our country based on the principle of tolerance.
At the core of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s active, practical actions aimed at resolving the Middle East conflict peacefully, based on international legal norms, lies a peace-loving and pragmatic foreign policy. A region where peace and stability prevail will have consistent progress, economic and social development, and confidence in the future.
From this perspective, the address of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the SCO platform, emphasizing that peace and tranquility are the primary keys to future development, and aimed at breaking the wave of various disputes and conflicts and peacefully resolving the situation in Gaza, reflected the will, goals, and desires of the peace-loving Uzbek people. In this regard, the call by the Head of State for the international community to take more active steps in resolving the conflict highlights the need to intensify attention to global security issues in the development of multilateral cooperation.
