On July 4, Bishkek hosted a conference on “Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan – deepening and expanding a comprehensive strategic partnership”, organized by the National Institute of Strategic Initiatives (NISI) under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The event was attended by leadership, representatives of ministries and agencies, and experts from analytical and scientific academic circles in the two countries.
The Kyrgyz side was represented by leaders and experts from the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy, the National Company Kyrgyz Railways, the Association of Freight Carriers and Logistics, Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund, Institute of Water Problems and Hydropower, Kyrgyz State Law University, Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnology of the National Academy of Sciences.
The Uzbek side was represented by the heads of the Institute of Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ISRS), the Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Studies, the Center for Economic Research and Reforms, the International Institute for Central Asia, and the Uzbekistan Railways JSC.
Delivering a welcoming speech, ISRS Director Eldor Aripov noted that in recent years, thanks to joint efforts, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan have achieved unprecedented results in bilateral cooperation. In a short period, the countries achieved a complete transformation of relations.
NISI Director S. Mukanbetov expressed a similar point of view. He said, “Today, relations between countries have reached an unprecedented high level”. At the same time, he emphasized the enormous potential between the two fraternal states for further deepening and expanding collaboration between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed that the bilateral agenda must include breakthrough agreements that meet the countries’ enormous potential. They expressed readiness to build scientific ties, implement joint research projects, and organize conferences on current bilateral relations and regional cooperation issues.
