On June 9, 2025, at the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ISRS), a meeting was held between the First Deputy Director of the Institute, Akramjon Nematov, and representatives of the Austrian analytical center “Global Neighbours” - Joseph Kirchberger and Alexei Ksenofontov.

During the conversation, the parties exchanged information on current initiatives and ongoing projects, outlined promising areas of cooperation between ISRS and Global Neighbours, and discussed possible formats for participation in joint events planned for 2025.

Particular attention was also paid to strengthening the expert dialogue between Uzbekistan and Austria. The interlocutors confirmed their mutual interest in developing partnerships between specialized organizations and agreed to maintain regular contacts to exchange experience and implement joint initiatives.

Global Neighbours is a Vienna-based think tank founded in 2022 by entrepreneur Jovanka Porsche together with former Austrian Chancellor Christian Kern and former German Vice Chancellor Philipp Rössler.

The main objective of the centre is to create a platform for dialogue between Europe, Asia and other regions, provide up-to-date information for representatives of business, politics and society, and organise expert economic events.
