On March 6 this year at the Institute for Strategic and Regional studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ISRS), a meeting was held with representatives of the U.S Central Command (CENTCOM).
The sides had a thorough exchange of views on regional cooperation and security issues in Central Asia.
The American side was informed of the principled position of Uzbekistan on ensuring sustainable development and stability in the region, as well as on current issues on the international agenda.
In this context, it was especially noted that Tashkent is taking concrete and significant steps to strengthen cooperation in Central Asia and consolidate the region. It was emphasized that thanks to multilateral cooperation based on mutual respect and consideration of each other’s interests and mutual benefit, an atmosphere of mutual trust has been formed in Central Asia, a systemic dialogue is supported, and mutually beneficial cooperation is developing.
