Information security is one of the most prominent in the SCO’s activities

On September 6, the Scientific and Expert Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on Information Security kicked off in Tashkent.

Deputy Director of Kazakh Institute for Strategic Studies (KazISS) under the President of Kazakhstan Sanat Kushkumbayev delivered a speech.

According to a KazISS representative, the topic of international information security entered the SCO agenda over 15 years ago and today remains one of the most prominent and significant in the Organization’s activities.

According to Mr. Kushkumbayev, in the world of high technologies, as well as in the conditions of digital inequality, it is important to keep up with the times and contribute to the development of the media space for member states.

In this regard, according to the expert, it is necessary to further promote the development of the IT sphere within the framework of the SCO.  In particular, it seems appropriate in this case to have closer cooperation of the information-analytical centers of the SCO member states and regular holding of open public sessions for the exchange of views.
