President of Uzbekistan receives the Prime Minister of Tajikistan

On May 14, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda, who arrived in Uzbekistan on a working visit to attend the next meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission.

Issues of further expansion of the multifaceted practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, strengthening friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership were considered.

The President noted with great satisfaction the current high level of cooperation achieved thanks to the political will and efforts of the leaders of the two countries.

Kohir Rasulzoda thanked the President of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and conveyed greetings and best wishes of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

The implementation of promising projects in trade, mechanical engineering, energy, mining, agriculture, textile industry, transport, tourism and healthcare was discussed at the meeting. Active dialogue at the regional and business levels, as well as cultural and humanitarian exchange programs, will continue.

The Prime Minister of Tajikistan emphasized that he will make every effort to jointly prepare for the upcoming summit of the two leaders, as well as to strengthen the broad partnership between the two fraternal countries and peoples.
