The Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the ambassador of Finland to Uzbekistan with the residence in Helsinki Marja Liivala. During the meeting, two sides discussed socio-economic and socio-political reforms in the country and prospects for cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Finland.
M.Liivala emphasized that the current internal political and socio-economic reforms in Uzbekistan and the constructive foreign policy of Tashkent are impressive for their scale, dynamism and effectiveness. In her opinion, Uzbekistan is the engine of sustainable development in Central Asia. Uzbekistan’s principle approach to building relations with neighboring countries, especially Afghanistan, have contributed to a significant improvement of the situation in the region.
Ambassador noted Finland’s interest in expanding cooperation with leading research centers of Uzbekistan.
