The ISRS held a meeting with the Special Envoy of Swiss Foreign Ministry for water issues G.Bonvin and Charge d'affaires of the Embassy of Switzerland D.Petter. During the conversation, the sides discussed priority issues of regional cooperation for water management and attraction of water-saving technologies to Central Asian countries.

G.Bonvin emphasized that Switzerland with many years of experience in the field of transboundary water cooperation is ready to continue active assistance and support to Central Asia. To this end the Swiss side has initiated a program aimed at facilitating cross-border interaction in the water sector in the region.

During the talks the sides also touched upon issues of improving water management and developing a new common vision of water security in Central Asia. In this regard, the Swiss side proposed to organize the number of exchange activities in the countries of the region with the support of Switzerland, the World Bank and the EU.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the management of the region’s transboundary water resources.
