On September 24-25, 2018, the delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the Director of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan V.Norov visits Belgium. The delegation includes representatives of the Information and Analytical Center for International Relations and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In Brussels, the Uzbek delegation will hold meetings with the leaders of the European Union, the OSCE, as well as the Parliament and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium. It is planned to hold joint "round tables" with the European Institute for Asian Studies on "Reforms in Uzbekistan: New Dynamics for Cooperation in Central Asia" and with the European Parliament on "New Trends in Internal and Foreign Policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan: priorities for cooperation with the EU".
During the events, delegation of Uzbekistan and representatives of European politicians, experts and business community of Belgium will exchange views on implementation of the “Strategy for Further Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2017-2021” and discuss new opportunities for deepening multifaceted Uzbek-European cooperation in political, trade and economic, financial-investment, tourism, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
One of the important events of the visit will be signing of Memorandums for establishing cooperation between the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and leading European think tanks.
In addition, delegation will take part in the events dedicated to the 27th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Kingdom of Belgium.
