On May 27 this year at the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a meeting was held with the staff of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the US Congress, Andy Olson and Hannah Thoburn.
During the meeting, the American side was informed about the foreign policy priorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan and exchanged views on the situation in Central Asia and Afghanistan. Particular attention was paid to the prospects of deepening regional cooperation, preserving Central Asia as a space open to mutually beneficial cooperation with all interested partners.
In turn, the Congress representatives stressed the importance of strengthening closer ties between the countries, as well as the need to expand cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, transport and logistics.
The American guests pointed to the significant potential for cooperation with Central Asian countries and expressed their commitment to further deepening the partnership.
