On October 29 this year, a meeting was held at ISRS with the Director General of the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses of India (IDSA) Sujan Chinoy, who visited Uzbekistan to participate in the parliamentary elections as an observer.
During the constructive dialogue, the state of Uzbek-Indian relations and ways of their further development were discussed. Particular emphasis was placed on the comprehensive strengthening of expert dialogue between Uzbekistan and India.
Sujan Chinoy highly praised the level of organization of the elections to the Parliament. According to him, the general elections served as another demonstration of the progress of democratization and modernization processes in Uzbekistan. "In recent years, such positive innovations have become commonplace for the republic," said the IDSA director.
Speaking about Uzbek-Indian relations, the director of the Indian Institute noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics of the development of bilateral ties. Such a trend, according to him, is expressed in the established trusting dialogue at the highest and high levels, strengthening of trade, economic and scientific-innovative partnership.
At the same time, the interlocutor pointed out the need for consistent strengthening of the Uzbek-Indian expert dialogue to reveal the enormous untapped potential of cooperation. In his opinion, the expert community should show more initiative and creativity in terms of identifying new areas of mutually beneficial partnership.
