ISRS hosted a meeting with the Director of the Centre for European and Asian Studies

On October 29, this year a meeting was held at ISRS with the Director of the Russian Center for European and Asian Studies, Andrey Gennadiyevich Rusakov, who arrived in Uzbekistan as an international observer for the parliamentary elections.

During the open dialogue, a thorough exchange of views on current issues on the international and regional agenda took place, and further prospects for Uzbek-Russian bilateral cooperation were discussed.

The expert highly praised the level of preparation for the electoral process in Uzbekistan. Its transparency and compliance with international standards were especially noted.

Discussing issues of regional cooperation, Andrey Rusakov emphasized the importance of the policy pursued by Uzbekistan, aimed at creating a new atmosphere in Central Asia, developing trade and economic cooperation, solving cross-border issues, as well as environmental problems.

According to him, "The President of Uzbekistan is the only one who has set a goal: "zero problems with neighbors." According to the expert, with his policy, Shavkat Mirziyoyev managed to create a new political reality in the region, which not only sets the tone for the socio-economic development of all Central Asian states, but also allows solving truly important problems."

At the end of the meeting, readiness was expressed for further expansion of research ties between the analytical structures of the two countries.
