In his welcoming speech at the event, the ISRS First Deputy Director Akramjon Nematov presented a comprehensive analysis of Uzbekistan – Italy relations, paying particular attention to the prospects for developing cooperation between the two countries.
As the expert noted, thanks to the friendly and trusting relations that developed between the two countries’ leaders, a constructive political dialogue was established, which this year reached the highest point in the entire history of relations between the states.
“The growing interest in learning the Italian language in Uzbekistan indicates the importance of teacher training and the gradual introduction of teaching Italian in our schools as a second foreign language”, Mr. Nematov said.
Following his speech, he thanked the Italian side for supporting Uzbekistan’s initiatives to deepen cooperation in Central Asia and strengthen regional security.
“Italy is the first EU country to launch a special format of dialogue with Central Asia “5+1” to promote a regional approach that considers the specific problems and internal issues of development of the five Central Asian states”, the expert emphasized.
