Uzbek delegation comprising representatives of analytical and scientific-academic circles is on a working visit to Japan. Deputy Director of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Mustafayev is also among the experts.
On July 10 this year at the University of Tsukuba was held a round table on "Knowledge formation and joint promotion of innovations in the dialogue of Central Asia + Japan".
The participants of the event exchanged views on topical issues of bilateral cooperation, identification of promising areas of possible joint research and topics of scientific events between Uzbekistan and Japan.
The flag of our country was raised in honor of the Uzbek delegation at the University of Tsukuba.
The next day, on July 11 of this year, a meeting was held with the leadership and experts of the Tokyo Foundation for Policy Research, a leading think tank in Japan that has been carrying out independent research on economics, environment, health, education, science and technology since 1997. In particular, productive negotiations took place with President Kadono Izumi, Executive Directors Mari Suzuki and Mieno Nakabayashi.
The parties exchanged views on issues of expanding practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan.
The dynamic development of bilateral relations in all areas was noted with satisfaction. It was emphasized that thanks to the pragmatic and active foreign policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by President Sh.M. Mirziyoyev, new strategic opportunities are opening up for building up multifaceted cooperation with Japan. The implementation of joint projects in the areas of trade, agriculture, energy, transport, and education is identified as promising areas.
An agreement was reached to hold regular meetings and events with the participation of analytical centers of the two countries.
Along with the leadership of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the event was attended by heads and experts of the Information and Analytical Center for International Relations, the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies, the Center for Economic Research and Reforms, and the International Institute of Central Asia.
The program of the visit also includes holding a conference on "Uzbek-Japanese Expert Dialogue: Strategic Partnership in New Conditions" jointly with the Japan Institute of International Relations.
During the joint expert forum, researchers from the two countries will discuss topical aspects of Uzbek-Japanese relations and develop, on this basis, concrete proposals and recommendations for further strengthening of the strategic partnership.
