
On 24 December 2025, Eldor Aripov, Director of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ISRS) held an online meeting with Rashid Al-Mohanadi, Vice President of the Center for International Policy Research (CIPR) of Qatar.
On 24 December 2025 an online meeting was held between the Director of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Eldor Aripov and the Vice President of the Center for International Policy Research of Qatar Rashid Al-Mohanadi.
During the meeting, the parties noted the high level and dynamic development of Uzbek–Qatari relations, which in recent years have acquired a stable strategic character. Active political dialogue and the atmosphere of trust between the leaders of the two countries provide a solid foundation for expanding cooperation in the political, economic, investment, and humanitarian spheres.
Special attention was given to strengthening expert interaction between ISRS and CIPR. Key areas of partnership for 2026 were outlined, with the participants emphasizing that following the Doha Forum held in early December, cooperation between the two think tanks has reached a new level.
Within the framework of this cooperation, the parties underscored their readiness to sign a Memorandum of Understanding, which will provide a solid foundation for further collaboration. In particular, plans include the organization of regular roundtables, the conduct of joint research, as well as the exchange of publications and analytical materials.
The interlocutors also discussed issues of regional connectivity and underscored the importance of participation by Gulf country experts in the second meeting of the Termez Dialogue in 2026. Recognizing the significance of Tashkent’s initiative aimed at strengthening ties between Central and South Asia, Rashid Al-Mohanadi noted that “Uzbekistan plays a key role in stabilizing the situation in Afghanistan. Stability in this country is important for the entire region.”
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their interest in further developing cooperation, strengthening expert ties, and implementing joint initiatives in 2026.
