On March 11, 2025, a meeting was held between ISRS Director Eldor Aripov and representatives of the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IMEMO RAS). Russian experts were represented by Deputy Director, Doctor of Economics, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Stanislav Zhukov, Senior Researcher Alexander Maslennikov and Researcher Mikhail Sinitsyn.
The parties exchanged views on current issues of bilateral cooperation, outlined plans for interaction within the framework of the Expert Council created between ISRS and IMEMO RAS. Particular attention was paid to the exchange of views on the development of the environmental situation in Central Asia, water resource management and solving problems related to climate change in the region.
At the end of the meeting, the participants emphasized the importance of maintaining working contacts and expressed their readiness to further strengthen scientific and expert cooperation.
For information: IMEMO RAS is a leading research center in Russia, established in 1956. Its activities are aimed at studying the main trends in the development of modern world politics and economics. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between ISRS and IMEMO RAS in 2018. Within the framework of this document, experts from the two think tanks regularly participate in forums, seminars and round tables on issues of mutual interest.
