ISRS hosted a meeting with the adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Suma Chakrabarti

On 19 March this year, ISRS Director Eldor Aripov met with Suma Chakrabarti, advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on economic development, effective governance and international cooperation.

During the conversation, the distinguished guest noted the importance of the measures taken by Uzbekistan, which, despite the difficult global economic situation, contribute to the dynamic advancement of reforms and the formation of a favorable investment climate.

A separate topic of discussion was the consolidation of Central Asian countries as a key factor in increasing the economic attractiveness of the region. Participants emphasized that deepening regional cooperation will open up new opportunities for sustainable economic growth.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed mutual interest in continuing the dialogue on current issues of development in Uzbekistan.

For reference: Suma Chakrabarti served as President of the EBRD (2012-2020). Prior to this, he was Permanent Secretary at the Department for International Development (2002−2007) and the Ministry of Justice (2007−2012) in the UK.
