On June 4, 2025, meetings were held between the First Deputy Director of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ISRS) Akramjon Nematov and the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Central Asia, Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Kaha Imnadze, as well as the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan Antti Karttunen.
During the talks, the results of the Termez Dialogue on Connectivity between Central and South Asia, held in Termez on May 19-21, 2025, were discussed. Representatives of international organizations highly praised the organization and content of the forum, emphasizing its importance for the development of interregional cooperation.
Special attention was paid to the issues of preparation for the Central Asian Expert Forum, which is scheduled for August of this year as part of Uzbekistan’s chairmanship of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.
The guests expressed their readiness to personally take part in the upcoming event, noting its importance in strengthening regional cooperation in Central Asia.
At the end of the meetings, the parties emphasized their mutual interest in further developing a constructive and mutually beneficial partnership.
