ISRS held a meeting with the director of Turkiye’s leading analytical structure "ANKASAM"

On October 28 of this year, a meeting was held at ISRS with the director of one of the leading analytical structures of Turkiye, ANKASAM (Ankara Center for Crisis and Policy Research) – Mehmet Seyfiddin Erol, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the parliamentary elections as an observer.

During the meeting, the state of Uzbek-Turkish relations and ways of their further development were discussed. Particular emphasis was placed on the comprehensive strengthening of expert dialogue between Uzbekistan and Turkiye.

Mehmet Seyfeddin Erol noted the positive dynamics of the development of Uzbek-Turkish partnership relations. According to him, Ankara considers Uzbekistan as a key partner in the Central Asian region. This is due to the similarity of long-term economic interests and the cultural and historical closeness of the two states.

At the same time, as the interlocutor emphasized, the expert community must take on more responsibility for identifying new growth points in bilateral relations.

In this regard, the director of ANKASAM shared his plans to expand cooperation with all state and private analytical structures of Uzbekistan. In particular, interest was expressed in signing a Memorandum of Understanding with ISRS in the near future. According to him, this will be the first significant step towards institutionalizing relations between the two think tanks.

Ankara Crisis and Policy Research Center (ANKASAM) is a think tank in Ankara established in 2017. It is a non-governmental organization. Its founders include leading scholars, experts, media representatives and intellectuals in Turkiye. Analyzing economic, political and social crises in the international system and developing policies that include solutions to them are among the priorities of the Center.
