Leading "think tanks" of Uzbekistan and Algeria discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral ties

March 27 this year an online conference was held on the prospects for the development of Uzbek-Algerian relations, the establishment of practical interaction between the analytical centers of Uzbekistan and Algeria.

In an event organized by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with the National Institute of Strategic Global Studies of Algeria, was attended by leading experts, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps and the academic community of the two countries.

During the talks, the parties discussed issues of expanding and strengthening the Uzbek-Algerian partnership.

This year marks the 31st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tashkent and Algeria. During this period, bilateral ties have demonstrated positive development dynamics, gradually enriching themselves with specific practical content.

In this context, experts stressed the importance of expanding Uzbek-Algerian ties, finding new growth points and drivers for mutually beneficial cooperation. At the same time, special emphasis was placed on the economic agenda of interaction, primarily in such promising areas as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, medicine, tourism, etc.

In addition, the participants of the meeting drew attention to the peculiarities of the geographical position of the two countries in their regions. So, Algeria for Uzbekistan can become a gateway to the markets of African countries. At the same time, Uzbekistan, being in the center of the region, is attractive for expanding Algeria's comprehensive ties with the countries of Central Asia.

This, in turn, will help strengthen regional interconnectedness, improve economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between the states of the two regions.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed interest in establishing a regular expert dialogue, allowing for an exchange of views on all areas of Uzbek-Algerian partnerships.
